design

Evaluate all elements of property asset design and documentation both in their component parts and as an integrated project to establish their alignment with market need, cost, efficiency, utility, performance, and compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
Design is one of the most important aspects of the development process that implements societal/cultural, environmental, economical, and sensory elements that create a sense of place. Throughout my time in the MLPD program, I've been constantly challenged to understand what goes into good site design. Design is not simply about aesthetics- there has to be a purpose around the design. Design is shaped around the site's characteristics and it's elements.

For my final project in LDEV 661- Site Analysis, taught by Tim Early and Chip Winslow, my group was tasked with conducting a site analysis and create a land plan for a 17.209 acre tract in College Station. We proposed a multi-use land plan that included a 40,000 square foot retail strip center, a 20,000 square foot luxury car wash and a 200,000 - 300,000 square foot, climate-controlled self-storage facility. These three uses would compliment each other well and ensure efficient use of all ~17 acres of the site.

Additionally, in LDEV 668- Residential Land Development, taught by Tim Early, one of our assignments was to create a preliminary land plan on 29 acres of raw land that will be developed into 45’ x 115’ lots.
