Planning and development Intern

In fall of 2018 I began working for the city of Southlake as a Planning and Development intern. I was able to work along with City Planners and the Director of Development on various projects during my time there and was able gain an understanding in local government practices. I participated in technical reviews of development proposals, attended City Council meetings, and attended meetings regarding new developments in the city. Projects I worked on during my time there included preparing a retail space study for the Economic Development department, assisted in preparation of a business case study for a modification of the public hearing notification process, prepared communication to the public through ESRI GIS Story Mapping for upcoming Planning and Zoning Commission and Corridor Committee meetings, researched, collected, analyzed and interpreted data into reports and prepared maps, graphs, charts and illustrations related to planning items
