It is essential to be aware of the world around you and the responsibility we have as developers to create something that serves a purpose for people and the environment. In the end, it’s not always about money, even though that is the main priority to maximize return on investment. We can still create places that have a purpose while remaining financially feasible. I took an online certification course from Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), where I learned about the best practices we as developers can implement on our projects that can contribute to global service and responsibility by implementing sustainable development practices. LEED's mission statement is "to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life.” This will be a priority that I will hold to myself throughout my career to ensure my duty for Civic and Global Responsibility
